Speaking of a QB having to throw to rookies, isn't that what Andrew Luck, a rookie himself, did all last year? Other than Reggie Wayne, he was getting the ball to TY Hilton, Dwayne Allen, Colby Fleener and Vic Ballard. Pretty incredible what the kid did with first year players.
Of course, on Sunday, all us Colts fans thought it was business as usual as the Colts trailed late in the 4th quarter with the ball in Luck's hands. It played out so often last year that it just seemed it would happen again. Not the case this time. But if not for a HORRIBLE illegal shift penalty on Reggie Wayne that nullified a Luck to Fleener Td, the outcome could have been different. Oh well. Long season. Dolphins looked pretty decent. Not sure if the Colts defense is making teams look better than they are or not. Hopefully not.
Julio Jones is the beneficiary of Roddy White's injury. Against the Rams, it was to the tune of 11 catches for 182 yards and a score. There are so many good WRs in the league right now, this guy gets overlooked sometimes, but he's right up there with the best of them.
I told y'all about the Panthers this year. It's not gonna be pretty. They barely have a fantasy relevant player in my opinion with Mike Shula calling the plays. If they can't get things turned around against a reeling Giants squad this weekend, you can turn out the lights. They are at home, but I have zero confidence in anybody in that uniform.
I'm not saying I'm super high on E.J. Manuel becoming a quality NFL QB, but you had to love his moxie on the final drive and his reaction following his Td pass on the last play of the game to beat the Panthers. It looked as if he was genuinely moved to tears. I'm now rooting for him to succeed.
Somebody needs to tell the Redskins what time their games start. They've been outscored 50-7 in the 1st half of their two games. They are outscoring their opponents 40-21 in the 2nd half.
Same can be said of the Broncos. They've been outscored 26-20 in the 1st half yet have outscored their opponents 66-24 in the 2nd. That's either good coaching at halftime or poor coaching before the game.
Break up the Chiefs. Andy Reid is a good coach. This team may surprise this year.
BTW - for everybody who wanted to anoint Chip Kelly as the second coming, somebody needs to remind him that you have to coach defense as well. Just saying.
The Texans and the Bears are both sitting at 2-0. Both should/could be 0-2. If either team gets back to playing well, these two gifts they've received could propel them to home field come January.
The Jaguars have scored three times this season in two games - a safety, a FG and a Chad Henne to Clay Harbor Td pass/reception. Not sure who is gonna be the favorite to go #1 in the draft next year, but the Jags have to be the frontrunner for the pick. They are bad.
This just in - the Seahawks are good. Especially at home. The rest of the NFC better take notice, cause if you give that team homefield advantage throughout the playoffs, you aren't gonna get to the Super Bowl.
Speaking of the Super Bowl, it is the dumbest decision ever to hold it in New York City. You want the game to be in a cold weather city, fine. But make it one with an indoor stadium. Still don't understand that decision.
